This piece was inspired by “Telling the Bees”, an old practice I heard about in which beekeepers used to make a ceremony out of telling their bees certain important life news, so the bees wouldn’t feel unappreciated, swarm and leave. I wrote this about spiders because even though some creatures aren’t considered cute, they play an important role on the Earth, and in our lives. Also, I think some spiders are quite cute. The artwork in this entry is a digital collage created using Canva, using a real photo I took of Lake Texoma as the background.
