Wildflower

This piece is from the perspective of a beautiful wildflower that everyone wants to pluck and carry off, but she has worked really hard to build a home where she’s at. She’s made friends, and asks that you leave her be. This connects to Earth day because humans so often impact nature without even realizing it, but it is always best to “leave no trace” when outdoors. The artwork is a digital painting I created a few years ago (I believe I used Ibis Paint, but I’m not entirely sure).

Jenna Gooch is wife to Thomas and mother to four amazing children. She is a Texoma resident, animal and nature lover, and someone who tries her best to intentionally slow down and notice small things. Her poetry is a reflection of the beauty of North Texas and Southeastern Oklahoma, her travels throughout the United States and abroad – and her love of global mythology, art, and a good ghost story!
